The Famous Grouse 70cl

The history of The Famous Grouse begins in 1865, when Matthew Gloag and his son William, produce the first bottle of the prestigious distillate. Matthew had worked as a wine and whisky merchant throughout Scotland and was privileged to supply the wines for Queen Victoria’s royal banquet, during her visit to Perth. His son, William, took over the leadership of the company in 1860 and began creating blended distillates in 1875. The Grouse brand enters the limelight under the guidance of William’s nephew, Matthew Gloag, becoming established as The Famous Grouse in 1905.
